Requirements:

A GSM cellular phone with the service-provider lock removed. If you are unsure whether your phone is unlocked or not, insert a SIM card from a service provider other than your own to check. (If the phone is locked, you will see an error message when you turn on the phone or a message prompting you to enter a subsidy code.)

To have your phone unlocked, contact your service provider (Cingular,
T-Mobile, etc..) for the unlock code. They usually will provide this at no cost to customers who have been with them for over 3 months.

The phone must be capable of functioning on the 1800 MHz GSM band.

Activating Your Service:

1) Insert the SIM card into your phone
2) Turn on your phone. (Be sure that the battery is charged)
3) Your phone should pick up service as if you are roaming

Recharging Your SIM Card:

This SIM card comes with an “E-Top Up Card” that makes adding talk time to your account even easier. Additional refill cards may be purchased at over 95,000 locations across the UK - convenience stores, newsstands, most ATM machines, cellular stores, and supermarkets. Even if you have zero credits, you will still be able to receive calls because incoming calls are always free.

Adding Talk time On-Line - You may use your Master Card and American Express Card to add talk time to you account before you leave on your trip overseas at http://www.virginmobile.com. Simply create an account, log in and register your credit card. You are now set to add talk time on line.

Service Life:

You must use your SIM card at least once every 12 months to retain your cellular service. Call credits do not expire as long as your account is kept active.

Data Plans:

You can use your SIM card on compatible phones to check your email, search Google, browse the web, and much more. You may need to call Virgin Mobile customer service to get carrier specific settings for your phone.
